I love pictures. Pictures of my son, pictures of the beach, pictures of the dog, pictures of pictures. LOL But there’s always one thing missing from most of those pictures, ME! To solve that problem at Walt Disney World I’ve purchased the Disney Photopass Memory Maker product for our trips. You can purchase Memory Maker and capture all those fun moments in the Parks, at Disney Springs and every once in a while at a Resort. The cost of Memory Maker is $169, but if you purchase it in advance of your trip, at least 3 days prior to the first picture being taken, you receive a discount and the price is $149. Once activated you can capture photographs for a period of 30 days and you have 45 days to download those photos to either a disk, thumb drive, your computer etc. Disney provides a Copyright Release as well so the photos can be printed anywhere and/or uploaded to a service like Shutterfly.
There are Disney Photopass photographers throughout the parks. Many stationed at iconic landmarks like Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom or in front of the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These photographers can also be found at most character meet and greets as well as random spots in the parks. Disney’s My Disney Experience App also allows you to view locations of Photopass photographers on the Park Maps so that they are easy to find.
Since I began using the Memory Maker product, and its predecessor product, I make a point to stop at as many photographers as I can, sometimes to the dismay of my family. We’ve captured so many memories of the entire group, not just a couple of us. Disney Photopass photographers will take pictures using your camera or telephone so even if you don’t purchase a Disney Photopass product or photo download, you can still have a quality photo taken of your group.
So, let’s talk about MAGIC SHOTS! I love these pictures. I’ve been posting a few here and there on my Instagram account and on my Facebook page.
What is a Magic Shot you ask? It’s a fun photo that requires a bit of Disney magic. Such as this:

When we took our photo we were all just looking super surprised at my wrist, but after a bit of “Magic” our friend Pascal appeared in our photograph.

This is a special Magic Shot for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Our “Little Chef” appears in the palm of your hand.
Here are a few other favorites:
The Memory Maker products captures all of the photos and videos from your vacation. You can even access them through the My Disney Experience App on your mobile device and share them to social media or save them to your device while you’re still on vacation.
Pictures from our Walt Disney World vacations hold so many memories. These two photographs were taken 5 years apart. The first in 2009 on my son’s first visit and the second in 2014.

My son is now taller than I, and the Sorcerer’s Hat is no longer in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (2016)

If you’d like to see more Magic Shots that are available in the Parks, check out CapturingMagic.me It’s a great resource for seeing what Magic Shots are available and where to find them. They also have a new smart phone app that I’ll be trying out on my trip next week. I’ll be sure to review and let you know how it worked for me.
