Under the Sea, under the sea….

A recent, quick “Magical Adventure” to Walt Disney World gave me the opportunity to stay in the Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

I’ve stayed multiple times at Art of Animation but had previously stayed in the Cars Family Suites and the Lion King Family Suites.

I love Art of Animation for many reasons. It offers accommodations for families, large and small. There are 3 pools at the Resort, one in the Cars Section, one in the Finding Nemo Section – the Big Blue Pool, and one in the Little Mermaid Section. The Resort also features Landscapes of Flavor as their onsite quick service option serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Landscapes is very tasty and offers freshly prepared options. The Ink & Paint Shop gift store offers a little bit of everything you’d need, or want. My current love of the Resort stems from it’s Disney Skyliner station, you can take flight right from the Resort to visit both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

The Family Suites, in themes of Cars, Lion King and Finding Nemo, are wonderful for families and groups of friends. The Family Suites offer a kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, bedding options that sleep 6 and living space. The reason we chose to stay in the Little Mermaid Standard Room was that there would only be 2 of us traveling plus the entire Little Mermaid section was recently refurbished to include queen size beds in the rooms. In addition, they’ve removed all carpeting and replaced it with laminate flooring. All of the soft good in the rooms have also been updated.

Below is a map that shows the entire Resort. The Little Mermaid section can be found in the top right corner of the map in building 7, 8 and 9.

The map can be found here.

We found our stay to be very enjoyable. While we did not take advantage of the pools we did dine at Landscapes of Flavor twice for dinner after a long day in the parks.

While the Family Suites are closer to the Lobby and Restaurant, I found the Little Mermaid Standard Rooms to be a fun option, especially for the littles (or young at heart) as the theming was amazing and fun!
