This time last year we were all still in lockdown dreaming of getting away on a vacation. 2021 is definitely different!
One of the questions I get often is – What’s Open? I’m happy to report that my answer now is – pretty much everything!
Are there still some restrictions? Yes. But, they are few and far between and apply to just a few destinations.
Theme Parks
All of the theme parks in Orlando are now open and ready for business. Disneyland in California just opened as well. Local theme parks are open too like Kings Island, Cedar Point and Six Flags.
All Inclusive Resorts
While most all Resorts have or have a scheduled opening, sadly there are a few that just didn’t fair well through the shutdown or haven’t been reopened due to capacity.
Mexico, the Dominican Republic and most all Caribbean Islands are open and ready for you to visit. Some of the islands do come with restrictions and testing requirements and all travelers returning to the United States must have a negative COVID test to board an airplane to return.
Cruises
This one has been a long time coming. Since March of 2020 there have been no cruise ships sailing from the United States. That’s all changed! I love to cruise and can’t wait to step back on board. As of right now Port Canaveral, Miami, New Orleans and Galveston all have upcoming cruise departures scheduled. I know over time that more ports will open and things will be back to a new “normal”.
Europe
Europe is slowly reopening and tours and river cruises are starting to come back. Currently the only issue would be the UK which isn’t as traveler friendly but I’m sure that will change too.
Group Tours
Group Touring is BACK! I have clients traveling to Alaska this month on a Princess group tour and Adventures by Disney has restarted their domestic Adventures.

The key thing to remember is – many of these destinations and tour types are booking up fast! A full 18months of pent up travel excitement has caused sellouts and unavailable dates.
NOW is the time to think about booking for late summer, fall and holiday travel. Plus, you definitely want to look at 2022 and even 2023 travel.
As always, I’m here to help you navigate changes, restrictions and more.
Travel with You Soon!
