Cruising: What’s Included

The question “What’s included?” comes up quite often for those new to cruising. I am also asked many of the following: Are all my drinks included? Do I have to pay for my food? What about the cruise ports, do I pay for activities and tours? Do I have to pay for the spa?

There’s really no one answer to any of these questions. It all depends on the cruise line, the cruise offer and often times the room category you book.

That’s where I come in! Finding the right cruise line, offer and room category to fit your needs and wants.

For a standard cruise your cruise fare would include – your stateroom, food in the main dining rooms, along with tap water, juice at breakfast, hot tea, iced tea and coffee at meals. Often cruise lines will also offer lemonade or fruit punch at the buffets, ice cream by the pool and there’s always pizza! On board entertainment, movies, and pool side activities are also included.

For instance a cruise on Carnival Cruise Line or Royal Caribbean Cruise Line would be a standard cruise that includes what’s mentioned above, but…you can add a drink package to include soda or alcoholic beverages. Specialty dining restaurants would be an additional cost as would be book spa treatments. Wi-fi and shore excursions would also be an additional cost. Gratuities are extra but can be pre-paid before boarding.

A few cruise lines include almost everything. Seabourn, for instance, includes all of your meals and drinks, including alcohol, your gratuities, wi-fi and more.

Throughout the year, and especially the months of January through March, cruise lines offer tons of offers that can include – free gratuities, free wi-fi and on board credit.

NOW is a great time to find a deal! Many of the recent cruises I’ve booked for my clients include on board credit, drink packages and more because of the offers the cruise lines have available.

If you’re ready to cruise contact me. I’d love to help you find the perfect sailing for you!
